This Rans Vivo has been set up with an mtb drivetrain that makes it a really great climber. I've used it for riding dirt roads in nw CT, up Mt. Riga, and have found it fun to use on singletrack. I am selling it because I want to get a 2x24 or 2x26 recumbent for offroad riding. I find the 2x20 setup on the Vivo is great for most off-road but the 20" wheels don't easily roll over obstacles like bigger ones. I found this to be ideal for tearing around the dirt roads near Twin Lakes, Mt. Riga, and the river roads along the Housatonic. The mtb dt does give it lots of climbing power and you'll be able to climb stuff, fairly easily, that's usually a real challenge for bents, but you do sacrifice top-end with the smaller chainrings and this bike is not real fast. The dual suspension soaks up all the bumps you'll encounter and the Rans set is every bit as comfortable as its reputation suggests. There is mild rust around some of the fittings, but the frame is in very good shape and the bike has been stored in my dry

This is a near-mint '96 16" GT Tequesta set up with a 42t single chainring and a Shimano Alfine 8 spd. igh. I bought this about 18 months ago on CL from someone who got it new in '96, rode it twice, hung it in her attic and never touched it again. I moved the original mtb drivetrain onto my Rans Vivo recumbent, and set this up as a commuter/light duty mtb. I only used it twice and, altogether, the bike only has about 30 miles on it, if that much. The frame is really too small for me and I have also come to the conclusion that I simply can't ride an upwrong anymore without paying for it later, so I'm sticking to recumbents. There is no wear of note on any parts and the whole thing is in mint (or near-mint) condition. It's been hanging in my basement, unused, and I need to sell off bikes to raise $$ because of illness in family. The trainer has 3 levels of resistance, however, you do need to get off of the bike to increase the resistance. You can also shift your bike to increase the resistance.
