I have a 1995 Chevy Blazer SL with a transmission problem or something camouflaging itself as a tranny problem. I had it rebuilt just last Sept. but too far away for me to use the warrantee. I never wanted an automatic, in the first place. I thought it possible there might be a mechanic, who works on his own cars and who might want to trade up. I would trade for an older pickup with a manual trans. It would have to be already in running order. The Blazer runs great, it's just the gears. My suspicion is a small part that went out, once before. something called solenoid? Whatever it was/is it's the brain that tells the trans when to shift. It's been suggested it's the filter.
