For sale is a large and lovely antique 19th C. still life, from New York artist, William Nelson (1825- ??). Done in oil impasto on canvas, the painting is in very good condition, with some expected flaking loss to the impasto and over-all light craquelure, while the entire canvas could use a good cleaning. Very in in its original frame framed, with the canvas seated nicely, and the original box-cardboard backing remaining firmly in place. Visible canvas area measures 24½" x 29", while the bronze painted wood frame is a full 30½" x 35". Signed in the lower right corner as "William Nelson. Serious inquiries only, please.
