In 1851, a syndicate ofwealthy New Yorkers commissioned a sleek new yacht, named America, and crossed the Atlantic to take on the best of the British fleet. In a race around the Isle of Wight, America won with ease and her owners bore away the 100 Guinea Cup in triumph. The trophy, named after the winning yacht, has been known as the Americas Cup ever since. For 132 years, the Cup resided at the New York Yacht Club. In that time, the club successfully defended the Cup 25 times - setting up the longest winning streak in sporting history. 1995 model; completely gone through last year! NEW 260 hp 5.0L Mercury fuel injected fresh water cooled engine got 2 hours on it before winter hit. Bravo II outdrive, 9.9 Yamaha high-thrust kicker with lift bracket and EZ Steer. Over the winter the hull was stripped of old, nasty bottom paint and refinished top to bottom. Since everything is off, the plastic swim step is being replaced with a glass one, and a custom radar arch was fabbed to replace the ratty old aluminum cage that was on her when we got her. Cruise curtain and full camper canvas included. Interior cushions not shown (still in winter storage) but in great shape. Marine head with macerator, galley with sink, fridge and electric/alcohol stove. Ardic auxiliary heat as well as heat from the engine. V-berth and dinette/bunk; sleeps 4 comfortably. Bow windlass, transom bait well, tons of storage and a quiet, smooth ride compared to the aluminum-hulled \"bangers\" (wife never been sick ONCE since weve owned this, surprised both of us!). Electronics include Furuno radar and sounder/fish finder, Richie electronic compass and Sitex gps/nav with Pacific Northwest chip including all of Alaska. I will throw in all the CG required gear, Halibut and salmon rods, Cannon Uni-troll 10 downrigger, and the PWS cruising guides and charts. three anchors, 600 rode, gaff, boat hook, harpoon, cleaning dope and gear...all goes with her.
