Im looking for a decent, reasonably priced canoe. Preferably relatively lightweight. Must have a yoke or at least be capable of installing pads for portaging. Im located in Cooper Landing on the Kenai Peninsula. I do have a vehicle, but work almost every day, so its tough for me to get very far to look at the canoe. I will be as flexible as I can. I have a 1999 Honda XR100 in fairly good condition. This was my first dirt bike and I have had it for a little under a year and now I would like to get something bigger so Im selling this one. I put a new front and rear sprocket and chain on it last year and put a new clutch cable, front brake cable on and a spark plug about two weeks ago. I have new front and rear bearings and seals that I can put on before sale unless you want to do it yourself. It has been stored inside a shed for as long as Ive owned it. Zodiac Serie 1, 10 ft lightweight inflatable with factory wood floor. On the back where the floor adheres to the transom it needs to be re-glued and it could use a couple of patches as it has a very slow leak. Alaska raft and kayak has a liquid you can add to the inside that will seal it up also for about $45. Sounds like the better way to go. It could be used now but would be better to put a little work into it. I have removed all the old glue and it is ready to repair. I want a bigger raft as this is kinda small for two people,a dog and gear for a weekend. I think its rated for a 10hp motor. I had a 4hp that worked great and it fit easily in the bed of my pickup and one person can load. Comes with pump and lightweight paddles. Registered until 2011. I have a well-behaved kitty (you can believe me or not; but he is trained purposefully like a dog) as well, and he is going nowhere. I love living by myself because I am more of a loner type than a rowdy type; the reason I want to be in this area (around Kasilof) is because I have family there in case I am lost or do not know what to do. I would like utilities included, since I am new to all this and would like to transition smoothly. I have a car that could tough out the summer heat in Texas, and so maybe if there is some help (like a heated garage or something) for it, that would help not having to purchase a new car once I get here. I would also like an included w/d unit that is not coin operated (that is just strange to me), if possible. I love to cook, so a kitchen of some proportion and attractiveness is generally what I base the whole apartment on --- appliances and cabinets especially. About me: I am a very laid back and straightforward Texas woman who believes the home is where you relax, not where you party. The most excitement that would go on in my home would be getting a new book to read or being a nerd playing video games. I do not even watch television. :P I do not drink or smoke or any of those sorts of things, I am honest and reliable, and I am dedicated to finding the best life for me as soon as I get there.If you have any advice or maybe know somewhere I could look into so I do not get up there cold turkey, I would greatly appreciate it. I have a budget to stick to for the first couple months, so I have to find something reasonable and something I will love.
