We would like to swap our home in Flagstaff, AZ for a simultaneous stay on the Kenai peninsula, preferably close to Kenai. Our home is 7 miles south of Flagstaff, in the beautiful ponderosa pines- 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, hot tub, large deck with grill and fenced play yard (very child friendly). Flagstaff is a city of 60,000 and is the gateway to the Grand Canyon and the Red Rocks of Sedona. We would like to visit the Kenai peninsula the first week of August and stay somewhere comparable to our home. Want to come and hang out in New York?? You may not live in the most wonderful place in the world, but neither do I. I’m a middle class single woman with space for 2 in a queen size bed, and possibly 1 child on the couch.Have you seen the movie “The Holiday”, we’ll that is my life. I just broke up with my long tern boyfriend and just need to get away. I have a one-bedroom apartment just outside Manhattan. 8 min walk, and 11 min train ride to New York City. My place is only a ten-minute walk to the waterfront (with a full skyline view of New York City).I want to get away somewhere in the country. You may not have the most beautiful place in the country, in your opinion. I’ve stayed in hostels all over the world, so I am not too picky, I just need a comfortable place to rest my head and get away from it all. Therefore, all offers will be considered. If you are interested in swapping apartments/houses for one week to two weeks, I would very much be interested in hearing from you. Disclaimer: My place is small, but when you are around here, you just need somewhere to sleep, there is so much to do in New York City, that you would probably only need somewhere to sleep and make breakfast, and possibly dinner if you are on a tight budget.My apartment (1 bedroom – all yours) is only about 400 square feet, and within a 10 min walk to a direct subway to NYC. My apartment is in the historic neighborhood of Hamilton Park (google it). Honestly, I lived outside NYC for over 10 years now, and with the amount of things you’ll want to do, this is as much space as you will need.) If you want to be in the city, you can be there in less than a half an hour.Basically, it is somewhere to sleep, just outside NYC, or just “the city” as we call it.The details (all your own, not a share):1 bedroom with a queen size, brass 4 poster bed, and 2 dressers at your disposal.A bathroom (with tub) a novelty hereA full living room with hi-speed wireless Internet access (verizon fios) TV, Stereo, Mac Laptop will left here at your disposal. Full digital television (with over 180 channels).An 8-minute walk, and 11-minute train ride to New York City.Very small kitchen, with stove, refrigerator and dishes/ utensils/cabinets. To give you some perspective, my monthly rent payment is about $1,100 a month, not including heat/hot water/electric/cable, or Internet.Most likely, your place is much cheaper, and much bigger than mine. But it is all about location. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. I am willing to take care of dogs, cats, cows, sheep, chickens, whatever. We have a gorgeous 4BR/3BA 2,000+ ft2 home on the Kenai River in Soldotna Alaska that we would like to trade for anywhere in Hawaii (Maui preferred) for two weeks between January 2 and January 18 in exchange for two weeks in August or September 2009 or anytime 2010. Our house has 3 floors, with large deck, stairs and fishing platform; remodeled in 2003. Fully furnished, sheets, dishes, stc. Has refrig, microwave, DW, washer/dryer, propane grill, patio set, wood burning warmer stove (outside). Views of river and mountains. Moose in the yard and eagles overhead. 15 mi to town. Very quiet and restful but close enough to Soldotna town center, road to Kenai and Homer. 3 1/2 hrs south of Anchorage. No smoking/no pets. Lets exchange info. Will trade fully equipped two(2) slide motorhome with just 5110 miles and an bumper-to-bumper warranty. This one-owner coach is virtually brand new and needs a new home where it will be driven and used more. I cannot travel much due to serious back condition, so it has had only short trips within the state. Non-smokers and no pets ever in the coach. We are looking for possible trade for a small cabin with power, sewer and water. We currently have our coach listed for sale for $55,900, the mileage is 5,150 miles, 3,400 miles of that was from the dealership driving the unit from Indiana to Anchorage. When we bought it new from Great AK Holidays in Anchorage, we had plans to move to the lower 48 to be closer to medical care for my back. However, my condition worsened and I ended up having a 13 hour back surgery in Aug.07 in Anchorage. I cant ride long distances any more and have problems with balance so our plans for this awesome motorhome will never be realized. Its a shame we cant use it more; it needs a new home where it can be driven and enjoyed more. You will immediately notice that this is a high-end RV with quality everywhere, I have never seen another like it in Alaska.
