Weve seen lots of wildlife in our neighborhood, but it has never been threatening. You can walk to the outstanding elementary school (Alpenglow) if you want and downtown Eagle River is 5 minutes away - good news if you need a coffee fix. Walmart is nearby (in Eagle River) so living off-post was truly not a challenge. The ride to work is a breeze and was never a problem. We have only improved this property since we bought it and are looking for a respectful family to call it theirs until we can work our way back to Alaska.
