Paint remains in good condition with minimal rock chips and scratches.Rare chrome trim around windows (most SCs have black trim).---------- WHEELS AND TIRES ----------16 inch black fuchs wheels. Wheels could stand to be refinished but are in reasonable shape.Tires are Kumho Ecsta Supra installed 5/10/2006. Fronts are 205/55VR16, rears are 225/50VR16. Only about 7000 miles on the tires since installation - they are in good shape.---------- ENGINE ----------The original engine was damaged after overheating due to an errant oil change. The owner at that time elected to replace the engine altogether with a used engine sourced from a 1983 911SC. The used engine was installed 2/23/1998 with 47,000 miles on it (I have documentation). This is a 3.0L engine very similar to the 1979 3.0L engine but with slightly more torque. The 911SC was produced from 1978 to 1983, so this is the final incarnation of the SC engine, which has a reputation as being \"bulletproof\". If you scan the ads for 911SCs on the web youll find many cars with well over 200,000 miles. This engine has a lot of life left in it and is very reliable. The engine does have a small oil leak, which is not unusual with these cars. I have changed the oil regularly and the car does not actually drip any oil unless it sits for a long period of time.The struts that hold the engine lid up are broken and could be replaced. I usually just prop the engine lid open.The current engine has been in the car for 11 years now and accumulated about 18,000 miles since it was installed. It currently has about 65,000 miles on it (I have documentation to back this up). These engines are well known to last over 200,000 miles before a rebuild. I regularly drive the car 50 miles round trip to work and back and it runs great.---------- INTERIOR ----------Much of the interior was restored by the previous owner. A new headliner was installed ($350), the seats were completely refinished ($950), new OEM carpet was installed throughout ($900), and new carpet door panels were installed ($180). The car has an electric sunroof that opens and closes at the push of a button. Power windows work (though they must sometimes be nudged on the way down).An aftermarket Momo steering wheel with Porsche crest has been installed. The original steering wheel will also be included with the car.Custom Porsche floor mats will be included to protect the carpeting inside.An aftermarket Pioneer radio/CD player was installed in the car along with new speakers at a cost of $449 on 4/24/2003. The radio has a remote and a detachable face. The manual for the radio will be included.The car has an aftermarket alarm system, but its currently disabled. I have the manual for the alarm system, and it could be re-activated.The original tool kit and spare tire that came with the car will be included.The original Porsche manual, warranty guide, and window sticker from 1979 will be included. The car was first purchased in Austin, Texas. It was then owned in the Houston, Texas area until 2004 when I bought it and had it shipped to Alaska.List of interior issues:- crack in dashboard- fuel / oil level gauge and oil temp / oil pressure gauge fog up somtimes (common for these cars)- tachometer needle bumps against glass of gauge and sticks sometimes - VDO gauge needs a new washer and can be repaired, but I have not bothered- cruise control does not work- wiper delay switch does not work- power mirrors only work on one side- heat works but not great - better on drivers side than passenger side---------- FRONT TRUNK ----------The front trunk is in good shape except for the hood struts which are broken. I usually just prop the hood up, but new struts could be installed. This is a common problem for these cars.---------- MAINTENANCE RECORDS ----------I have almost all maintenance records back to 1991, including all records since Ive owned the car from 2004 to the present.
